• 1910 - Evidence of Roe & O'Connor; Alice Roe's combined bus/lorry business
• 1925 - Business taken over by T Severn & Sons
• 1955 - Jack & Winnie Roe started Roeville Tours, running private hire & works contracts to Armstrong Patents in Beverley & York
• 1980 - John & Peter joined the family firm and expanded to operate tours and excursions, followed by Rock Express - concert ticket & travel and Leisurewise Travel operating reader holidays
• 1993 - Coach business sold and John & Peter branched out into reservations software for coach & tour operators
• 1997 - Roeville Computer Systems formed as a company, operating from small office in Fishlake on the land used as the base for the original Roe bus depot
• 2006 - Moved to the former Roeville Tours base in Stainforth - now employing 10 staff full time with another 5 part time or outsourced associates

Current Directors

Born into the coach business, John & Peter Roe had 20 years first-hand experience of living and working with all aspects of the business, taking over from the founders, Jack & Winnie Roe in the mid-1980's.  While Peter joined the family business straight from school, John initially obtained a degree in physics before working as a computer systems engineer with the British Steel Corporation.

It was in 1982 that John joined the family firm to manage the accounts and administration functions, while Peter managed the fleet of 12 coaches, plus the engineering side of the business.  John introduced the newly emerging breed of small microcomputers, the very first machine being assembled from individual components, which was the springboard for the first generation of software used to run the family business.

As technology moved on, John developed commercial packages for Excelsior (South Yorkshire) and Enterprise Travel - who still use Roeville software to the present day, before opening to a wider marketplace.

On the 1st January 1993 Roeville Computer Systems was born and the coach firm was sold.  From then until now, Roeville has been an innovator in terms of quality software for UK coach & tour operators.  With a range of quality products, and a first class support team, Roeville powers hundreds of UK coach and tour brands from the smallest to the largest in the business.
